for Members
Your
board is busy making final plans for our participation at HIMSS. We are
co-sponsoring a number of events from a pre-conference workshop to the
HIMSS Project Management SIG member meeting. We will also have a booth
so please stop by to meet your board and let us know what we can do to
help you. Additional details are listed below along with upcoming local
events. We are actively working to provide additional benefits to you,
our members. We have been able to increase our online educational offerings
with our partnership with SolutionQ. We are working on similar agreements
with other organizations. We are also working to increase the content
on our website to provide additional resources to our members. If you
have suggestions, please feel free to let us know. You can stop by our
booth at HIMSS, participate in our annual membership survey that occurs
each spring or drop us an email. We want to hear from you

SIG and Solution Q Team-up to Deliver
a Series of Live Webinars
Presenter: Kiron D. Bondale, PMP, MBA - Solution Q Inc.
Date:
March 25 or March 26· 2 PM EST
Cost: Free to Healthcare SIG members
PDUs: PMPs earn 1 PDU.
The
Healthcare SIG and Solution Q have teamed-up to deliver a series of three
webinars offered over the next few months. The next webinar offered in
this series is Practical
Project Risk Management.
Risks
exist on projects because by definition, projects possess uncertainty.
Organizations that ignore risks experience reduced project success rates
due to the wasted effort and delays that result from dealing with issues.
Risk
management methodologies address this challenge but tend to be too theoretical
or require significant process discipline or historical data to be practical.
During
this webinar you will learn practical, lightweight best practices for
managing risks throughout a project's lifecycle.
Benefits
of managing risks through this approach include:
Improved
project predictability
Improved ROI for your overall portfolio
Quantification of cost & schedule contingencies
Reduced effort spent resolving project issues
